     The wake for FDNY Battalion Chief Michael Fahy will take place on Thursday September 29th and Friday September 30th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9p.m. at Flower Funeral Home which is located at 714 Yonkers Avenue. 

     Due to the large turnout of both uniform personnel and civilians from across the country for these services, there will be no parking on both sides of Yonkers Avenue from Page Avenue to Seminary Avenue.  There will also be no parking on the northern section of Orient Street one half block from Yonkers Avenue.  No parking signs are already posted on these streets.  Numerous members of the Yonkers Police Traffic Division and the 2nd Precinct will be assigned to this area to assist residents and attendees.    

     Yonkers Avenue in both directions will have one lane open for vehicular traffic from Page Avenue to St. Johns Church.  Orient Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from Clark Street to Yonkers Avenue.

     Those planning on attending these wake services, including uniform and civilian personnel, are encouraged to park at Empire City Casino located at 810 Yonkers Avenue (Trenchard Street / Yonkers Avenue parking entrance).  This location is approximately four blocks east of Flower Funeral Home.  Yonkers Police Officers will be posted at Yonkers Avenue and Central Park Avenue to assist those attendees who will be walking to the funeral home from the designated parking area at Empire City.  In addition, shuttle buses will be available to transport attendees from the Empire City Casino parking area to the funeral home.

     Media outlets who are covering the wake will be staged on the westbound side of Yonkers Avenue north of the funeral home.  There will be a designated area for the media in place within view of the funeral home. 

     An additional media release will be sent out this evening with details concerning the funeral for FDNY Battalion Chief Michael Fahy, which will take place Saturday October 1st at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Annunciation located at 470 Westchester Avenue.
