FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH

On June 2nd, 2020 at approximately 3:53AM, officers responded to the area of N East Avenue and Hamilton Drive for a serious crash involving a pedestrian.  The pedestrian identified as Edward L. Morales, age 35 of Vineland NJ, later succumbed to his injuries after being struck by a 2003 Nissan Altima operated by Jasper Rivera, age 36 of Vineland NJ.  The Vineland Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit was then assigned to the crash.

Preliminary investigation revealed the Nissan Altima was traveling northbound on N East Avenue when it struck Morales at the intersection with Hamilton Drive.  

No charges have been filed at this time and the investigation is still ongoing.  Officer Paul Cifuentes of the Traffic Safety Unit is the lead investigator of the case.
