On December 11, 2020, at 10:03p.m., officers responded to a residence in 6500 Block Georgia Ave N. on a report of a domestic disturbance involving a male who had an order for protection against him. Officers initiated contact with the suspect who was parked at the caller’s home. The suspect and two officers exchanged gunfire. One officer was shot, and the suspect fled the scene on foot.  The suspect was apprehended after an extensive law enforcement search.   When the adult male suspect was taken into custody, he was found to have sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.  The officer who was shot was treated at North Memorial Hospital for a non-life-threatening wound.
